The set is cast in resin, so it is worked differently from injection-molded plastic. The number of parts and the make-up of the package are shown by the illustration on the packaging.
The Clarkat was a small four-wheel airfield tow tractor of American manufacture, typical of operations around combat aircraft during the Second World War and in the postwar years. Tractors of this kind were used to move aircraft around a flight line and to tow carts with munitions and equipment; their advantages were low weight, small dimensions and maneuverability in the tight space between machines. The designation in the name refers to the release used by British units.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that they are rid of mold release agent residue, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter and sand the surfaces down; when sanding resin, protect your airways. It is attached with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); cement for plastic does not work on resin. Apply a thin primer before painting; the small parts of the tractor will then stand out once they are gone over with a dark wash and the edges are picked out with a dry brush. With airfield equipment it pays to overdo the chipping and traces of service less rather than more.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
