1:48 MiG-25BM BASIC kabuki masks

Masking masks for the MiG-25BM 1:48 — the BASIC set

A basic set of precisely cut masking masks of Japanese kabuki tape from the Czech brand New Ware for a model of the MiG-25BM aircraft in 1:48 scale. It covers the most laborious parts of the masking and saves the hours that outlining the frames and curved edges by hand would otherwise take.

About the real subject

The MiG-25BM is a specialized version of the heavy twin-engine MiG-25 (Foxbat in the NATO code system) intended for suppressing air defenses with anti-radiation missiles; it differs from the reconnaissance versions in a reworked nose and in its equipment. The large airframe offers big continuous surfaces, on which the final impression is decided by exactly these clean sprayed edges.

Use

• Lift the mask off the sheet with tweezers, lay it on a degreased surface and press the edges down.
• Lay the paint on in thin coats square to the edge of the mask, which limits bleeding.
• Once the paint has dried, pull the mask away at a sharp angle, back over itself.
• Store the sheet with the unused masks flat and in a dry place.

Who it is for

For anyone who builds the Foxbat in 1:48 scale and wants the certainty of a clean canopy and reworked wheels without laborious outlining by hand. The basic set is the quickest route to a marked improvement in the result.

This is an accessory: the package holds masking masks only, and the model and paints are not included. Check the compatibility with your kit before you buy.
