A Hataka modeling paint from the Orange Line range in a gray-beige shade listed under the reference RAL 1040 F9. The shade code is HTK-C279.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a light gray-beige tone listed with a reference to the RAL chart, specifically to number 1040 with the suffix F9. The shade lies between sand and gray: it has enough warmth to read as faded sand, while it lacks the yellow cast that gives pure desert colors away. On a model it therefore never looks garish, even when it covers large areas.
Light beige tones serve above all as a base coat on vehicles and equipment in camouflage, over which darker patches and stripes are applied. They suit boxes, jerrycans and equipment just as well, and buildings and walls in a diorama, and in mixing they serve as a light base for dusty and faded shades. Given its low saturation it also takes toning toward gray or toward brown well.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles at the bottom when standing. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions and use the thinner made for this range. Light shades cover worse than dark ones, so count on several thin coats over a smooth and degreased base; a single heavy coat floods the relief and still stays patchy.
The paint is supplied on its own. The thinner, brushes and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
