A profile in styrene (polystyrene) with a semicircular section 4.0 mm wide and 350 mm long, in a package of 3 pieces. Against the thinner variant of the same shape it is distinctly heavier, so it suits elements that are to read clearly on a model from a distance: heavy piping, rounded rubbing strips or pronounced borders. The flat side sits on a surface over its whole area and the profile does not roll on a model.
Cut from the flat side and round the end face off with a sanding stick if needed, so that the end of a pipe does not look chopped. Apply cement for plastics to the flat face along the whole length; on a long part, glue progressively and hold the profile until the joint sets. A heavier half-round bends worse than a thin one, so build curves from shorter sections instead or reckon with a larger radius. After a primer the rounded shape comes into its own thanks to the natural transition of light and shadow, so drybrushing works well on it too.
For modelers who work in larger scales or add pronounced rounded elements, and for diorama builders. It suits everywhere a thin half-round would barely be visible on a model.
Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package. Work over a cutting mat and in a well-ventilated room when cutting and sanding.
