About product

GAS HANS hexagonal armor bolts 0.5 mm

This is a set of miniature fastener parts, not a kit, from GAS HANS: hexagonal bolts, or rather nuts with washers, with a head size of 0.5 mm. They are used for superdetailing models, where they replace bland molded bolts with accurate hexagonal heads. The 0.5 mm size is a versatile medium size that suits a range of fastener details.

Use

  • Separate the parts carefully; work with tweezers, a magnifier and good lighting.
  • Set them into drilled or pre-molded locations; bond them spot by spot with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
  • Use the minimum of glue so that the edges of the hexagon do not flood.
  • Once dry, paint the parts together with the surrounding surface for a uniform look.

Who it is for

For advanced modelers and detailers who want realistically rendered bolts and nuts on vehicles, aircraft or other equipment. Given the size, it calls for experience with very small parts.

The 0.5 mm figure is the size of the part, not the scale of the model. The parts are supplied unpainted and without glue.

FAQ

It is the size of the hexagonal head of the part, not the scale of the model. The sets differ precisely in that size in millimeters.

For superdetailing: it replaces simplified molded bolts and nuts on a model with accurate hexagonal heads.

Spot by spot with super glue (cyanoacrylate), using the minimum of glue so that the edges do not flood.
