The strongest step, Hexagonal Bullet-Proof Bolt 1.6 mm, is intended for display models and for scales where fine riveting loses its point. The box holds 81 pieces.
Responsibility details are not available.
The top of the whole range. The head measures 1.6 mm, the mounting hole is the only one to reach a full millimeter, and the box holds 81 pieces, that is the fewest of all the steps in the range.
A fastener this massive suits places where fine riveting is no longer enough and where it would be lost. In 1:16 scale it corresponds to roughly 2.6 centimeters of real head, in 1:25 to a full four centimeters. It is reached for on the fittings of wooden decks, on the armor of sizeable models, on tractors and steam locomotives, but also on display mockups of machinery assemblies, where the viewer's attention is concentrated on the individual parts close up. On mockups of agricultural machines it holds together frames and girders, where bolts used to be exposed and massive.
A millimeter drill passes through a thin wall easily and can break through it. Back the part up from the inside, therefore, or mark the depth you need on the drill with tape. Count on there being the fewest pieces in the whole range as well, so the arrangement is worth thinking through before you reach for the glue. Draw off the swarf after drilling, so that it does not get trapped between the head and the surface; otherwise the head will not seat square. Set one part in dry first and check whether the hole holds it.
A drill of one millimeter in diameter and glue are not supplied.
