A very dark green with a marked black tone, carried in the Real Colors range among the shades of the Imperial Japanese Navy under the designation D1. On a model it reads as almost black and the full green tone shows only in direct light. Dark green shades of this type appeared on the upper surfaces of Japanese naval aircraft.
On the upper surfaces of models of Japanese naval aircraft, following the references for the kit. The close but different shade D2 is carried by the same range under the code RC955, so you can choose which of the pair matches your subject better; do not mix them within one model, though. The paint also comes into its own anywhere else you need a very dark green with no blue cast.
Mix the contents of the bottle before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Wash and degrease the surface and lay the paint on in thin coats; dark shades cover readily, so a heavy coat is not needed. Count on a dark surface swallowing shape: edges, panel lines and riveting disappear on it, and a model therefore looks better if you play the surface up with a lighter shade in the middle and leave shadow only where it belongs. Lay a gloss interlayer under the decals, or a silvery haze will appear beneath the film.
The package holds one bottle of 17 ml. Thinner, primer, varnishes, decals and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
