Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the F9F-3 Panther carrier-borne jet fighter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The model has finely engraved panel lines and suggested riveting, a well worked out cockpit and landing gear bays. The box holds a clear canopy part and a decal sheet with two marking options. The instructions in the box give the exact number of parts.
The Panther was the first jet fighter from Grumman and one of the first with the US Navy. The straight wing carried tip tanks, and the machine proved itself in the Korean War as a reliable carrier aircraft for air combat and for attacks on ground targets. The F9F-3 version differed in the engine used and was built in smaller numbers as insurance against any trouble with the standard powerplant.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Lay down a primer before painting; the overall Glossy Sea Blue is typical of naval Panthers. Finish the tip tanks and the cockpit carefully, mask the glazing and paint it last. Bring out the panel lines with a fine wash and even the gloss out according to how worn you want the machine to look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
