Intensity Ink TENEBRIS BLUE is an acrylic ink of Spanish production from Green Stuff World, that is a paint on an acrylic base. The Latin tenebris means darkness, so the name is aimed at a dark blue pitched toward night. Inks form a group of their own in modeling painting: a modeler reaches for them when they want to give an already mixed surface saturation, depth or a color accent, not when they need to settle the base tone of a whole part. A dark blue is a rewarding shade for shadows: it looks colder than brown and less hard than a pure black, so a model does not lose its drawing.
Shake the bottle properly before work, so that the colorant is evenly mixed in. How the shade finally comes out is affected by the tone beneath it too, so try the ink first on a spare piece of plastic or on a test area and only then go to a visible place. Work in thin layers rather than otherwise and leave yourself room to strengthen the shade gradually; taking an applied tone back off is always harder than strengthening it a little more. Closer technical parameters and the recommended thinning are given by the manufacturer on the packaging, so go by its figures.
It will be appreciated by modelers of figures and busts who build a shadow in layers, and by creators of dioramas with a night or water atmosphere. It will also serve wargaming collectors who want to unify the blue base of a whole unit.
Keep the paint out of the reach of children, work in a well-ventilated room and close the bottle carefully after every use.
