Italian Red (17ml)

Real Colors RC835 Italian Red, 17 ml

An acrylic modeling paint from the Real Colors line by AK Interactive, listed under the manufacturer code RC835. The bottle holds 17 ml. The Italian Red shade is a saturated red whose name refers to the Italian racing tradition.

Where the shade is useful

A red of this kind comes into its own on the bodywork of sports and racing cars, on motorcycles and on the parts meant to catch the eye on a model. It also serves well as an accent tone on small elements where an otherwise restrained color scheme needs enlivening.

How to work with the paint

• Stir the contents thoroughly before you take any out; the pigment settles at the bottom and without stirring the shade will be off.
• Apply it in several thin coats and let them dry between one another; a single heavy coat floods the surface detail.
• Saturated reds cover less well than dark tones, so lay them over a light base, ideally over a white primer.
• For thinning and for cleaning, use the thinner intended for the Real Colors line; the ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
• Try the shade beforehand on a piece of scrap plastic, not straight on the model.
• Close the bottle carefully after work; paint left open thickens.

Storage and packaging

Store the paint in a closed bottle away from heat and frost. Thickened paint can be thinned again, but check the resulting tone on a test sample.

The package contains one bottle of paint of 17 ml. The thinner, brushes, an airbrush and the model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
