A collectible fantasy figure in the 54 mm format, that is in the traditional size for painting characters. It is neither a kit nor an accessory for a model; what you buy is a casting to be assembled and painted. The Rage of Ages range is cast in resin, which at this size holds even a fine surface texture, and it is exactly the different surfaces that are the main theme on a hunter figure.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off and level the mating faces. On larger parts secure the joint with a wire pin and bond with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic will not join resin. Fill the seams and sand them back before the base coat, because after painting they are hard to put right.
On a hunter figure several different surfaces usually come together and the whole impression rests on whether they can be told apart. The key is not in the color but in the way the surface reflects light. Cloth takes a soft, blended transition with no sharp highlights. Leather is smoother, so on the edges it carries a narrow and brighter band of light. Metal can be handled in two ways: with a metallic paint, which has to be stirred thoroughly before use because the pigment settles to the bottom, or without metallic pigments, that is by building the contrast from ordinary grays. The second route is more laborious, but in a display case under artificial light it looks cleaner. Apply metallic shades at the very end, as it is hard to work over them. Finally, even the surface out with a matte varnish and bring gloss back deliberately only where it belongs.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
