The Jetfire is a small unpowered hand-launched glider made of light foam with a 305 mm wingspan from the manufacturer Pelikán. It is not a plastic kit but a simple free-flight model, which is set flying by a throw of the hand. Thanks to its small dimensions and low weight it is ideal for playing on smaller areas, in a park or in the yard, and it suits children and beginners in particular.
Small hand-launched gliders serve for fun and for a first acquaintance with the principles of flight and trimming. The Jetfire with its 305 mm span flies calmly and predictably and suits short gliding flights in calm air. The foam structure takes the impacts of landing and minor falls well.
Assembly is simple: the parts are usually just joined and, if need be, glued with a foam-safe glue (do not use aggressive super glues, which attack foam). Fine-tune the trim with a little ballast at the nose so that the model glides smoothly. Fly in calm air, and make the throw smoothly and slightly upward.
The model is supplied as a foam kit for simple assembly. Glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
