The Junkers Ju 88 was a German twin-engine all-metal aircraft of the Second World War with a low-wing layout. It belonged to the types that saw a great many versions and conversions during their service, so individual machines differ in the nose, the glazing, the engine nacelles and the armament. For the modeler that is essential information: the versions differ enough that documentation is needed to check which parts belong to the machine you have chosen.
The photographic documentation makes it easier to decide on the equipment and the details of a model, whether you are building straight from the box or adding resin and photo-etched parts. It also helps when planning the finish, because period images give a sense of how worn the real machine was and how extensively it had been repaired.
