Kaki Français is the French name for khaki, that is, for the muted green-brown shade worn by French military vehicles. The paint sits between olive green and brown and looks calm on a model, with no sharp color cast. A base like that is exactly where later shading, edge highlighting and a layer of dust and mud come out well.
The shade is aimed above all at French ground vehicles, meaning armored cars, tractors and trucks. It will also serve on equipment, crates, tarpaulins and jerrycans in a diorama, where it has to match the vehicle, and anywhere you need a muted military green with a brown undertone instead of a strong olive.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before work so that the pigment is mixed through the whole volume. Thin it with the thinner intended for this range and in the ratio given by the manufacturer on the packaging. Wash and degrease the base first, because paint does not hold on a greasy surface. Spray in thin coats and let the area flash off between passes, since one heavy coat floods the engraving and the edges. When you work with a brush, move quickly and do not go back into a coat that has started to set, or the bristle marks will stay.
The paint is supplied on its own. The thinner, brushes and other equipment are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
