Warm neutral tones react to the color of the surrounding light more than any other group of shades. Tan FS33245 Matt is a matte acrylic paint from the Lifecolor brand with a matte degree of surface and the number of the American Federal Standard color standard in the name. It is a tan, that is, exactly the type of tone that looks one way on the workbench and another in the display case.
More saturated colors hold their identity even under different lighting, because one component predominates in them. But a tan is almost neutral and the light can do what it likes with it: under warm yellow LED light it slides toward orange, under cool daylight by a window it goes gray and begins to look beige. On a real vehicle in the desert that does not matter, because you see it under the same sun that lights the surface itself. A model, though, lives in a room, and its tan area adapts to whatever shines above it. On top of that comes the influence of scale: the smaller the model, the greater the share of the overall impression taken by the overall area of the base tone, because there is little detail to break it up. Always make the decision about the shade, therefore, under the light the model will end up in, and not at the lamp on the bench.
For modelers of desert vehicles and of aircraft in dry regions, and for diorama builders who need a reliable base for sand, dust and dry earth.
Keep out of the reach of children. When spraying, work in a well-ventilated space.
