LC18 - FS36300 matt light grey

Light gray FS36300 in the camouflage of ground vehicles

Light gray is the shade that carries the lightest field in a multicolor camouflage. In winter and transitional schemes it forms the base into which the darker bands are only then set, while in concrete and urban surroundings it works on its own as the main tone of the vehicle. The name of the shade gives the number of the American Federal Standard color standard, FS36300, and the matte degree of sheen.

Working with a mask and with transitions

• Lay the light field on first and set the darker bands into it only afterwards; the transition is then far easier to keep an eye on.
• You get a hard edge with a mask laid straight onto the surface, and a soft edge by lifting the mask a few millimeters above it.
• On the large flat areas of the body and the side panels, light gray picks out every irregularity, so lay it on in thin layers.
• Color modulation shows best in a light field: leave the center of the area light and darken the edges gradually.

Who the color is for

It will be reached for by modelers who build vehicles in winter finishes, vehicles of peacekeeping missions and civilian and police machines, and by everyone who needs a light field for a multicolor camouflage. It also serves well as a light tone for emphasizing edges and for brightening large areas before the wear effects come into play.

Keep the paint out of the reach of children and, when spraying, work in a well-ventilated space.
