The red version of the arc-shaped markers from Green Stuff World. The marker is laid against the base of a figure and marks out the arc within which the model acts. Red is the most readily understood color for danger and fire among gaming aids, so the meaning of the marker is clear even to a player seeing it for the first time.
When each side has its own color of marker, more angles can be left lying on the table at once and nobody will mix them up. Red also goes well with the strong fluorescent shades of the same range: one side measures in red, the other in green or orange. In practice this mainly speeds up the turns in which firing is decided for several units in a row, because the angles do not have to be laid down and taken away one at a time. On a light mat or on desert terrain red tends to be more legible than the brilliant shades, which get lost on a light ground.
For players who keep running into arguments about line of sight, for pairs who want to measure each in their own color, and for clubs and event organizers where the method of resolution should be the same at every table.
