A light blue shade from the Abteilung 502 acrylic line. The paint is water-thinnable, so it is cleaned up and mixed differently from the oil and enamel products of the same brand. Light blue tones find a use in modeling on undersurfaces, fabrics, accessories, science fiction and fantasy subjects, and as a lightening component in a saturated blue.
Both paths lead to the goal, but the preparation of the paint differs. Under a brush the paint is taken practically as it is, only moistened slightly so that it does not leave marks. It is applied in thin coats, the strokes are led in one direction and a new coat is added only once the previous one has set, otherwise the brush bites into the softened paint beneath. For an airbrush the paint has to be thinned, otherwise it curdles in the nozzle and sprays grainily. A lower pressure and several light passes give a smoother surface than one slow flooding pass. Residues of acrylic in an airbrush cure quickly, so clean it immediately after you finish spraying.
For modelers who combine a brush with an airbrush and want one shade usable by both techniques. Suitable for beginners too, because acrylic forgives mistakes and the tools are cleaned with water.
Close the bottle carefully after use and stir the contents before use. Ventilate and protect your airways when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children and protect from frost.
