Responsibility details are not available.
LP-27 German Gray is a gray shade from the LP line by Tamiya. The name German Gray refers to the German gray, that is the dark gray tone in which German military vehicles were painted. It therefore finds a use on models of German tanks and other ground vehicles, but also anywhere else a neutral dark gray suits: on gun barrels, on running gear, or as a dark base under a weathered finish. Judge the match with a particular period subject against the manufacturer's color chart.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use so that the settled pigment is dispersed again; with grays in particular the difference between a stirred and an unstirred paint shows immediately. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, that is the thinner intended for this line. The surface must be clean and degreased. Apply the paint in several thin coats instead of one heavy one, otherwise the fine surface detail of the model will be lost under the finish. Try the behavior of the paint first on a piece of plastic or in a less conspicuous place.
A dark gray is a rewarding base for further work. Once dry, edge highlighting in a lighter tone and work with shadows show up well on it, and on large surfaces it pays to vary the shade a little, otherwise the model looks flat. Before applying decals, coat the surface with gloss varnish so that no matte marks form under the decal. Clean brushes and the airbrush with the thinner intended for this line immediately after work.
A model, thinner and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
