LP-75 Buff is a light tan shade from Tamiya's LP modeling line. The English word buff denotes a muted sandy brown without strong saturation — a tone that appears in nature and on equipment wherever there is dust and dry earth. It suits desert camouflage, tarps and canvas, wooden parts, interiors, and as a base for dust buildup on running gear and lower surfaces.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, since the pigment settles to the bottom and an unstirred spray will come out uneven. Choose the thinner the manufacturer specifies for the LP line and follow the mixing ratio on the package; do not carry over habits from other lines. Apply several light coats instead of one heavy one and let the paint flash off between them, or fine surface relief will be lost.
Light earthy shades cover poorly over a dark base, so apply a unifying base coat first to avoid multiple layers. The shade looks different on a large area than on a color chip, so test it on an offcut before applying camouflage. Mask a dried coat carefully, with tape that does not have an aggressive adhesive.
Thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
