MDF Movement Trays 32mm x5 - Skirmish is a movement tray for five figures on bases 32 mm in diameter. It is not a display base for a cabinet but a gaming aid, thanks to which the whole group moves at once and keeps a constant spacing.
In a tabletop game a unit is moved across the table many times during a session. Moving each figure separately holds things up, and every time there is a risk that a fragile detail will catch on something. A tray with openings for the individual bases holds the formation together. Lift it by the edge and the unit moves in exactly its original arrangement. The Skirmish designation refers to the looser spacing used in games with fewer figures, where a unit does not stand in a close formation.
The 32 mm figure in the name refers to the bases of the figures, not to the size of the tray itself, and it is the only measurement that has to match. Before buying, therefore, measure the diameter of the bases you use, not the height of the models. A count of five matches a smaller group, so a larger unit can be assembled from several trays side by side. Away from the game the tray also helps with carrying and lining up figures, because it holds them at a constant spacing and does not let them lean against each other.
