An add-on detail set from the Very Fire brand in 1:350 scale, meant to improve a model of the German battleship Tirpitz. It is not a stand-alone ship kit, but a set of fine parts that replaces or completes the less detailed areas of the basic model. It typically holds photo-etched parts such as railings, ladders, fine gratings and further items for a more faithful look.
The Tirpitz was the sister ship of the battleship Bismarck and one of the most massive German warships of the Second World War. The detail set makes it possible to replace coarser plastic areas with finer metal parts, to add missing fittings and so to raise the overall level of the finished model to collector quality.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a surface and bend them with a bender or with two rulers. Glue them with super glue; fine joints can be strengthened with a drop of good cyanoacrylate. Degrease the parts before painting and then apply a primer, so that the paint holds well on the metal.
This is an add-on detail set, not a ship model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
