Medium green holds a scene together

Of all the green tones the middle one is the least conspicuous and for that very reason the most used. It corresponds to vegetation on an ordinary summer day, when the leaves are not dried out yet but spring freshness is already gone. In a scene it fills the role of a base: it covers most of the area and light and dark places that give the pattern are put into it only afterward. Without such a middle tone a scene easily slides into a pair of extreme colors and comes across as hard.

Why a large package

A basic tone is used up faster than accents, with more extensive scenery easily several times over. This package covers 945 cm² according to the manufacturer, which with a continuous area means a noticeable difference against the smaller version. The grain is fine, so the material creates an even carpet rather than individual bushes, and it suits grassy slopes, embankments, field boundaries and the areas between buildings.

Applying it without making blotches

Evenness is the main worry with a large area. It helps to spread from a small height and in thin layers, quite happily twice in a row, instead of one thick dose, which creates lumps. It is a good idea to thin the glue with water with a drop of dish soap, so that it wets well and does not stay in drops. Once dry the excess is sucked off with a vacuum cleaner through a stocking pulled over the nozzle, by which the material is caught and can be used again. Only onto a finished carpet do darker and lighter islands come. The material is independent of the size of the models and can be used without adjustment by a military scene, by a view with figures and on a layout.
