Metallic paints usually confine themselves to the shades of precious and technical metals. This set of six goes elsewhere: it carries a metallic sheen in rich blue, green, red, purple and turquoise. It suits everywhere a surface should look precious or supernatural - on the armor of fantasy figures, on a dragon's hide, on painted car bodies, on insect wings and on collector's bases.
The metal particles in the binder need a smooth bed. On a rough or grainy surface they spread unevenly and the sheen looks matte. A properly smoothed base therefore works best, ideally in a dark shade close to the final color - a dark blue under Neptunus Blue, a dark green under Sirenscale Green.
The bottle has to be shaken honestly before use, because the metallic component sinks to the bottom faster than the pigment of an ordinary paint. It is thinned with water, but carefully: too much thinning disperses the particles and the sheen disappears. In an airbrush a wider nozzle is advisable. A brush leaves fine strokes, which on a metallic surface often look natural.
