Eduard 1:350 Yukikaze 1940 is a photo-etched set for sharpening up the details of a plastic model of the Japanese destroyer Yukikaze. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds stainless steel photo-etch meant to improve the details of a plastic model of the destroyer Yukikaze in her 1940 state, in 1:350 scale. It supplies the fine elements that injection-molded plastic cannot capture. It is not a ship model in itself; it is an accessory to the base kit.
The Yukikaze was a Japanese Kagero-class destroyer that became famous for coming through a string of major battles of the Second World War almost without damage, and was therefore regarded as a lucky ship. She survived the war and afterwards went on serving under the Chinese flag. She carried both guns and torpedo tube mounts.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a firm surface and bonded as a rule with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Make the bends along the score line. Degrease the parts before painting. The set is especially good for refining the railings, the ladders, the radars and the fine deck fittings.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a kit. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
