The move from a brush to spraying most often founders on small things: the airbrush is bought, but the paints are thick and thinner has to be bought, mixed and the ratios guessed at. What can be done right after unpacking

What to keep in mind when starting out

Compressed air first: a compressor is not part of the package and it is the one thing you need in addition to get going. Next, it pays to count on the first spray on a model never coming out right; try the nozzle on a plastic spoon or on an old casting before you let the paint onto an assembled airframe. And third, cleaning: rinse the airbrush out straight after finishing the work, not the next day, because acrylic paint hardened in the needle costs more time than the whole rest of the build.

The ten shades are chosen as a camouflage palette, so together they cover the earthy, green and gray tones a builder of military equipment uses most often. When the need extends to a particular aircraft or period, individual bottles of the same line are bought one at a time and work with that airbrush without trouble.
