The periscope paint from the Sira Hobby brand is a water-thinnable acrylic paint intended for the periscopes and vision ports of combat vehicles and for the signal or position lights of aircraft models. It is deliberately semi-transparent (non-covering) - the blue shade works as a tinting glaze, so you determine the final intensity and transparency by the number of coats applied or by thinning with water. That is how you achieve a realistic glass-like look for the optics.
