MRP-A005 Orange RAL 2017

Mr.Paint Orange RAL 2017 — Acrylic Modeling Paint, 17 ml

This product is a modeling paint, not a kit. It comes from the Aqua range by the Slovak manufacturer Mr.Paint and is a water-thinnable acrylic — not the lacquer (nitro) type the same manufacturer's main range is known for. It is thinned with water or the manufacturer's acrylic thinner. The package holds 17 ml in a dropper bottle; the paint is mixed for an airbrush and is usually sprayed straight from the bottle, drying to a satin finish.

What RAL 2017 Means

RAL is a German industrial color standard. Number 2017 denotes a rich signal orange in this scale. RAL defines the shade, not a period or military assignment — it is a precisely defined, reproducible orange you can use anywhere a color needs to draw attention: warning elements, equipment, accessories, dioramas.

Use and the Most Important Tip

• Orange and red cover very poorly. Applied directly over a dark or gray base, they come out brownish, and you have to add coat after coat.
• Always start with a light base — white, or even better yellow. Over that, orange comes out at full strength after just two or three thin coats.
• Airbrush: spray thin, covering coats with time to set between them; trying to rush it with one heavy coat leads to blotches and runs.
• The satin surface tolerates decals and washes directly, with no intermediate varnish.

Who the Paint Is For

For modelers who need a standardized signal orange and want to work with a water-thinnable acrylic. Suited to airbrush use; with a brush, expect to need more coats.

The paint is supplied on its own and is not part of any kit. Ventilate and protect your airways when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children.
