About product

Cream RAL 9001 — Mr.Paint Acrylic Modeling Paint (Aqua Range, 17 ml)

Cream RAL 9001, in German Cremeweiss, is a cream off-white with a subtle yellowish cast. It is a water-thinnable acrylic paint from the Aqua range by the Slovak manufacturer Mr.Paint, in a 17 ml dropper bottle. It is made for both brush and airbrush and works best applied straight from the bottle, with no thinning. It is thinned with water, or with acrylic thinner from the same range — never with nitro or lacquer thinner. Once dry, it holds a durable, well-adhering film that tolerates masking tape.

The manufacturer states no specific military, national or period assignment for this shade, and we are not inventing one — RAL is a shade standard, not a historical classification. Take it as a universal cream off-white with a precisely defined tone.

Why an Off-White Pays Off for Modelers

Pure white almost always looks unnatural on a model — it is dead cold, works against the impression of scale, and absorbs shadows to the point where the model looks like a plastic toy. An off-white cream shade is more realistic: it has warmth in it, takes shading better, and reads as true white at small scale. That is exactly why experienced modelers reach for it anywhere white straight from a bottle would otherwise be the obvious choice.

Use

  • Cockpit, cabin and fighting-compartment interiors, where pure white would be too harsh.
  • Canvas, tarps, ropes and textile elements on vehicles, dioramas and figures.
  • Faded, sun-bleached areas, aged finishes and light bases for chipping.
  • Light decor, stripes, numbers and markings; a base under poorly covering shades, especially reds and yellows.
  • Lightening and modulating darker shades — a few drops in a mix shift the tone with no cold cast.

Who It Is For

For modelers who want a more realistic alternative to pure white — for interiors, textiles, patina and light decor — and prefer an odorless, water-thinnable acrylic. Always apply light shades in thin coats, and shake the bottle thoroughly before use; the pigment settles to the bottom.

A modeling paint, not a kit. Keep out of the reach of children and close the bottle carefully after use. Work in a ventilated room and use a respirator when airbrushing — do not inhale the atomized paint.

FAQ

Pure white looks unnaturally harsh and cold on a model, absorbs shadows and works against the impression of scale. A cream off-white has warmth in it, takes shading better, and reads as true white at small scale. That is why it suits most white areas on a model better.

The manufacturer states no military or period assignment for it, so we are not claiming one either — RAL is a shade standard, not a historical classification. It is a universal cream off-white you can use for interiors, canvas, faded areas and light decor.

Yes, and it is a good idea. Red and yellow pigments cover poorly and come out muddy over a dark base. A light cream base helps them reach full saturation in fewer coats, so you do not bury detail.

Acrylic from the water-thinnable Aqua range. It is thinned with water or acrylic thinner from the same range, never with nitro or lacquer thinner. Usually, though, you will not need to thin it — the paint is ready to spray straight from the bottle.
