Mr.Paint Soviet Protective Green KhV-518 is an acrylic modeling paint from the Aqua line (17 ml): the Soviet protective green that the manufacturer associates with the postwar T-54 to T-72 tank families. It is a paint, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A modeling paint, not a kit. A water-thinnable acrylic from the Slovak brand Mr.Paint in the Aqua line, in a 17 ml bottle, for airbrush and brush alike. KhV-518 is not merely the name of a shade: it is the designation of a specific coating system of the Soviet army, and that is exactly why modelers look for this paint.
Both paints can be described as a Soviet protective green, and that is where the most common mistake arises. The difference is the period: 4BO is the protective green of Second World War vehicles (the T-34, the KV, self-propelled guns, artillery). KhV-518 is a later coating, which the manufacturer ties to the postwar, Cold War tanks of the T-54, T-55, T-62, T-64 and T-72 families. If you are building a T-34, 4BO belongs on it; if you are building a T-55 or a T-72, reach for KhV-518. The paints are not interchangeable and they are not two names for the same shade. The brand also carries other Soviet greens, among them Russian Protective Green NC-1200, so for vehicles outside the main families always go by the documentation for the particular machine.
For builders of Soviet and Eastern Bloc armored vehicles of the postwar period, from the T-54 to the T-72 and the types derived from them.
A modeling paint in a 17 ml bottle. The kit, glue and thinner are not included in the package. Work in a ventilated room and use respiratory protection when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children.
