Mr.Paint RLM 70 Schwarzgrün is a water-thinnable acrylic modeling paint from the Aqua line — the very dark, almost black green of the upper surfaces of German aircraft of the early phase of the Second World War. It is not a kit but a paint for the airbrush and the brush.

A water-based acrylic paint from the Aqua line of the Slovak maker Mr.Paint. It is a modeling paint, not a kit — it comes in a dropper bottle and is intended for spraying with an airbrush as well as for brushing. The shade RLM 70 Schwarzgrün is a very dark, almost black green that the Luftwaffe used on the upper surfaces of its aircraft at the end of the 1930s and in the first years of the war.
Together with RLM 71 Dunkelgrün, RLM 70 makes up the classic pair of upper surfaces of the splinter camouflage of roughly 1939 to 1941 — early versions of the Bf 109, He 111, Ju 87 or Do 17. Both greens break into sharp geometric fields on the spine and the wings, while the undersides go with them in the light blue RLM 65. Without RLM 71 and RLM 65 you cannot put the scheme together — count on the whole trio from the start. Watch out for a mix-up: RLM 70 is distinctly darker, toward black, whereas RLM 71 is greener and lighter. On a finished model the difference is easily lost, so it pays to have both paints side by side and to apply them thoughtfully.
For modelers of early Luftwaffe aircraft who want an accurate period shade without mixing, and for everyone who prefers a water-based acrylic to solvent lacquers — for the lower odor and the easier cleaning of an airbrush.
A modeling paint, not a kit. Ensure ventilation while spraying and protect your airways; keep out of the reach of children.
