A workshop aid, not a part of a model. It is used to cover areas while spraying and to make your own masks to suit the pattern you happen to need. The version refers to the three-tone NATO scheme, that is the combination of green, brown and black that has appeared on the equipment of member armies since the 1980s and is among the most frequently sprayed patterns on models of present-day ground equipment.

The procedure for a three-tone pattern

• First spray the lightest tone over the whole area as a base.
• Draw the pattern out on the mask in pencil and cut it with a sharp blade on the mat.
• Cover the areas that are to stay in the base tone and apply the second color.
• Repeat the procedure for the third tone, always laying the masks onto paint that has already dried.
• Keep the masks you have cut after spraying; you will use them again when building the same equipment more than once.

Wipe the mat clean of paint and glue after work, so that it stays flat. Paints and cutting tools are not included in the package.
