A loose material for building terrain from the Natuex F range. The name carries three facts that matter for the choice: the version is medium, the shade is green-brown and the package volume is 0.1 l. The medium grade stands between the fine and the coarse version of the same range and is the choice that is easiest to work with: the texture is noticeable but does not overpower the surrounding detail.
The green-brown shade is the color of growth that is no longer fresh but has not yet dried out. It suits embankments, field boundaries, the surroundings of tracks, abandoned ground between buildings and overgrown vehicle ruts. The small 0.1 l package works well as one of several shades used to vary a surface; reaching for a single shade for a whole diorama does not pay off, because the result looks flat.
Coat the surface with glue, apply the material in a thin layer and sweep or carefully vacuum the excess off once it has dried. Work in stages and let each layer dry. While the glue is still soft the edges can be spread out with a brush and the transitions between shades softened; later it is no longer possible. It also pays to try the scatter on a piece of card first and only then on the model, because the quantity of material can only be judged from your own experience. Fix the finished surface so that the material does not come loose when the model is carried. A suitable glue and its thinning are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
