The Oda Models - Capitan Nemo 1:12 collector's bust comes from the Spanish label Green Stuff World, which publishes sculpting series from independent studios. The bust belongs to the Oda Models range. The character's name is given in the original wording from the manufacturer's catalog and the 1:12 ratio matches the rest of the range.
On a bust the 1:12 ratio refers to a real person, so it is not the scale of a model. Compared with small gaming figures this is a substantially larger format, and that changes the way the model is worked. A large surface rewards soft transitions, work with shadow and differences in surface texture that would not read at a small size. The bust therefore also suits anyone who wants to treat the portrait as a subject in its own right.
The bust is a self-contained display object: it needs no surrounding scene and no extra room, so it can go into a display case or onto a shelf among the other pieces of a collection. It comes into its own under soft side lighting that emphasizes the volume of the face. The Oda Models range covers several pieces with the same ratio, so a collection built around a single range stays uniform in size and looks orderly.
