Option Body Parts Type G03 (Color B), an accessory set from Bandai

This item is not a complete model but an accessory plastic set from the Japanese brand Bandai. According to the name it contains optional body parts in the color finish designated Color B, intended for the same manufacturer's character kits. The parts are injection-molded from pre-colored plastic and snap together, just as on Bandai's other kits.

What the set is for

Optional body parts make it possible to build your own variant of a figure: the modeler uses them to replace the parts that came with the base kit and assembles a figure their own way. The type in the designation tells the particular form of the parts apart, and the Color suffix the color version. Which particular kit the set is cut for is stated on the box; before buying, compare the joint system with the model you have the set in mind for.

Building and painting

Separate the parts with modeling nippers a little away from the part and finish the sprue nub with a sharp knife or a fine file. On parts that are seen close up on a figure it pays to spend more time than usual on cleaning up. Painting is not needed, as the plastic is colored right through, but small touch-ins with a brush and a final matte varnish will do the surface good. If you are combining the set with a model built earlier, reckon with the fact that the plastic shades from different packages may not match exactly; it is a coat of paint that will unify them.
