ORANGE YELLOW FINISH (90 X 200MM)

Orange Yellow Finish (90 x 200 mm)

Self-adhesive color film from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in an orange-yellow shade, supplied as a single sheet measuring 90 x 200 mm on a firm backing paper. The film is very thin and pliable, so on a model it creates an even area of color with no risk of paint runs, grain or visible brush strokes. It is not a paint or a decal in the usual sense but a covering material that is cut to shape and stuck on.

Use

• Cut the piece out to a template or to the outline of the part of the model
• Peel off the backing paper and lay the film on a clean, degreased and smooth surface
• Press it down with a soft cloth or a cotton swab from the center toward the edges so that no bubbles are left
• Trim the excess at the edges with a sharp scalpel
• Work on simple curves, as the film ripples on complex double curves

Who it is for

For modelers of racing cars, aircraft and science fiction subjects who need a bold signal area, a stripe or a color field with a perfectly smooth surface. It suits places where masking and spraying would be laborious or where the edge of a paint layer would be too coarse. It also comes in useful when building dioramas and accessories that need a precisely bounded area of color.

Store it flat and out of direct sunlight. The surface of the model has to be completely dry and degreased before the film is applied, otherwise it will not hold.
