It is not an aircraft kit but a more demanding aftermarket accessory for experienced modelers, one that raises the level of detail in the cockpit considerably.
The English Electric (later BAC) Lightning was a British supersonic interceptor with the distinctive layout of two engines stacked one above the other and a steep rate of climb. The F.2 and F.6 versions were among the later production standards of the Cold War.
The set usually combines cast resin parts with fine photo-etch and possibly decal elements for the instruments. First wash the parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand the resin with respiratory protection.
