1:48 A-10C Thunderbolt II, glazing stencils (Great Wall Hobby) prepare the outer cockpit frames of the upgraded attack aircraft for spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
Stencils for the outer cockpit frames of the attack aircraft in the A-10C version. The cut follows the glazing of the Great Wall Hobby kit, which is given in the name of the item.
The aircraft got its nickname because of its angular, not very graceful shape, yet in the role of close air support nobody has come near it to this day. The A-10C version grew out of an extensive rebuild, after which the machine works with laser-guided and satellite-guided weapons alike and shares data with the other participants in an operation. Typical for it are a matte gray finish and a dark anti-glare panel ahead of the windscreen. It is exactly that inconspicuous detail that makes a great difference on a model, because it breaks up the uniform surface of the nose.
Spray the anti-glare panel at the same time as the frames and you will save yourself a second masking. Before you lift the stencils off, trace their outline with the tip of a scalpel, so that the layer of finish is not torn away along with a piece of the surrounding paint. Leave the glazing covered until the end of the work on the model; you will protect it from dust and fingerprints. Keep the last check for the moment when the model is finished: in raking light every place where paint has crept under will show, and a small touch-up with a fine brush is then a matter of a minute.
