A Hataka modeling paint from the Orange Line range in the light gray Pearl Grey shade, with references to the FS 36493 and RLM 77 standards.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pearl Grey is a light gray shade with a subtle cast toward a warmer tone. The shade carries two references into standardized palettes: FS 36493 comes from the American Federal Standard, in which aircraft shades are marked by a five-figure number, and RLM 77 is a designation from the German aviation palette. Both numbers show which standardized shades the manufacturer relates the paint to, so they serve as a guide when looking for a substitute and when putting a palette together for one model.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use; with light shades the pigment settles the most and without mixing the paint comes out unevenly. Choose the thinner that is made for this range; the thinning ratio is given by the manufacturer on the packaging. Light grays go on in more thin coats; a single heavy coat covers the engraving and the surface stays dead. A light base pays off under a light shade, as over a dark base the paint would need more coats and the shade would shift.
It suits wherever a build needs a light gray: on the surfaces of aircraft, on accessory parts and as a tone for lightening other shades. Because it is a standalone paint, it is tied neither to a scale nor to a particular kit.
The paint is supplied on its own. The thinner, brushes and kits are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
