A width of one millimeter is the finest variant of the wooden planking from Artwox Model. In the name it is accompanied by the designation sticker, that is a self-adhesive finish. The material is supplied as a stock from which you assemble an area exactly to the shape of your model. Do not look here for any division into parts for a particular kit; the layout is entirely up to you.
The smaller the model, the narrower the strip you need, so that the deck does not look like a patio floor. At a reduction of one to a hundred a millimeter corresponds to ten centimeters of real width, at one to two hundred to twenty. Both values match a slender plank, so the material suits small hulls and anywhere the grain is to be hinted at rather than conspicuous.
Work in a well lit space and pick the individual pieces up with tweezers, not with your fingers. Always lay one end down, check the direction and only then lower the rest. Level the edges that arise with a blade run perpendicular to the grain, so that a thin splinter is not torn out. The finished surface will take gentle toning that takes the newness off it and brings it closer to the look of a real vessel.
