Tamiya Primer for Nylon and Polypropylene is a primer for plastics on which ordinary modeling paint does not hold by itself. It creates an adhesive intermediate layer that can then be painted in the usual way.
Responsibility details are not available.
A primer intended for plastics with a smooth, chemically resistant surface, that is for nylon (polyamide) and polypropylene. On these materials the applied paint peels off once dry, cracks or can be rubbed away with a fingernail, because it has nothing to bond to. The primer forms a thin intermediate layer on the surface that takes hold and offers the top coat the kind of base it is used to. It is therefore neither a paint nor a filler, but a technical preparation used before painting itself.
For modelers who need to paint parts made of materials that resist paint. Typically these are flexible parts, tracks, gears, parts of engineering plastics and accessories that come in kits in a material other than ordinary polystyrene. It will also be appreciated by those who bring parts from everyday household products into a model or a diorama, where the material cannot be influenced. Even a less experienced modeler can handle it; all it takes is a clean base and patience while it dries.
The preparation contains organic solvents. Work in a well-ventilated area away from open flame, use respiratory protection and keep it out of the reach of children.
