A thin styrene strip of 0.25 x 3.2 mm in a length of 35 cm. It is ordered as single pieces.
Responsibility details are not available.
A thickness of a quarter of a millimeter puts this strip among the materials for fine detail. Glued onto a smooth area it makes an overhanging edging, an imitation of flat bar, a reinforcing plate over a joint, a strap on a crate or a band that masks the dividing line between two parts. A low profile means that once painted it will not read on the model as a foreign sticker but as part of the original structure.
The width reaches 3.2 millimeters at a thickness of a quarter of a millimeter, and the length of one strip is 35 centimeters. The unit of sale is one piece.
The material is pliable enough to wrap around a rounded fuselage or a tank without being heated. Lay the end on, apply a drop of glue and press the strip down with your finger step by step until it has gone all the way round. Paper scissors will divide it as well as a knife, and with material this thin they tend to be quicker. Thin walls forgive fewer mistakes, though: too much glue softens them so much that they dent under a finger.
Short sections cut off across the strip give small plates, loops or clips that bring even an otherwise smooth surface to life.
The material will also take a sharp fold to a right angle; just mark the line of the break in advance with the blunt side of a knife. The plastic then breaks exactly at the intended place and not a bit further on.
Thirty-five centimeters will do for a great many small jobs, because the individual edgings usually measure only a few millimeters. Keep the leftovers in an envelope marked with the dimension; in a box among the rest of the material you will not tell them apart later.
