A small U profile 2.0 mm wide and 35 cm long. For guide rails, window frames and fine structures.
Responsibility details are not available.
A U-shaped section consists of a base and two perpendicular arms, the total width is 2.0 mm and one piece is 35 cm long. The small size makes the profile a material for details that are meant to look like a genuine rolled channel: in 1:35 scale it corresponds to a part about seven centimeters wide, and in railway HO 1:87 to as much as seventeen. The material is white polystyrene, that is a plastic that can be cut, sanded and glued just like the parts of a kit.
Typically as the guide rail of a sliding door, a window frame, a rail support, a cover for a cable bundle under the floor of a car, or as a light lattice in a roof structure. The open shape has a practical advantage as well: a thin sheet or a wire can be slid into the channel, so a glazed window, a cable run or a rail in a trough appears with no further work. The same way you can suggest a downpipe run along the wall of a building.
The slender arms ripple easily, so do not divide the material with side cutters but with a sharp knife on a cutting mat: score the base first and only then snap the piece off. Glue with a fine needle applicator suits assembly, so that the solvent does not reach the visible surface and dull it. Blow the channel out before painting, because sanding dust settles in it. And because the profile is slender, it pays to keep the offcuts: they are exactly what makes the brackets, small consoles and tiny mounts that would otherwise have to be made laboriously.
One piece is one rod.
