PS21 Park Green Spray

A calm green shifted toward gray-green from the Tamiya PS range. The range is lacquer chemistry and is prepared for the flexible polycarbonate of radio-controlled model bodies. It is not intended for styrene plastic kits. The can holds 100 ml and is used straight from the package; it is neither thinned nor mixed with paints of another chemistry.

Use and the order of colors

• Darker muted shades cover well, so they serve as a dependable base area for a multi-color scheme
• Painting is done from the inside, so masking tape goes on the inner side and the edge has to be pressed down with a fingernail or a burnisher so that paint does not run underneath
• Spray first the shades that are to appear as accents on the finished body, and only then this green over the whole area
• If you want full saturation with no light showing through, seal the paintwork from behind with a black or white covering coat
• Lift the tape while the paint is not yet fully cured, as the edge will then be cleaner

Who it is for

For builders of radio-controlled models who want an earthier, less strident look, whether on off-road cars, truggies or bodies in a military-flavored scheme. A muted green takes a combination with sand, brown and black well and does not compete with colorful decals. It is also a good choice where you want a surface on which dust and scuffs will show less.

Safety at work: the contents are flammable and the container is under pressure. Spray outdoors or in a room with continuous ventilation, never near flame, sparks or hot objects, and protect your airways and eyes. The optimum distance is about twenty-five to thirty centimeters. Always make a test spray on scrap material beforehand, which lets you check both the spray pattern and the shade. Do not puncture the can, do not burn it and do not store it at temperatures above forty degrees Celsius.
