RLM is the color system of the German air ministry and every shade in it carries its own number. RLM 76 is a light blue-gray that modelers know from the undersides and the side walls of the fuselage of German aircraft in the later camouflage schemes. It is a light tone, so over a dark base it needs more coats; it pays to count on that when planning the painting sequence.
