A set of six cloth sanding pads measuring fifty by fifty millimeters. Each has a different grit, namely 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000 and 12000. These are therefore finishing stages far beyond the range of ordinary sandpaper, which do not roughen a surface but smooth it gradually and prepare it for polishing. The material is a flexible fabric with abrasive applied to it, which lasts considerably longer than paper.
Always work from a coarser stage to a finer one and do not skip any, otherwise traces will stay under the gloss. The pads work better wet, as water carries the removed material away and the abrasive clogs less. After each stage wipe the surface and inspect it against the light. On clear parts finish with a polishing compound, as only that brings full transparency back.
A pad can be cut into smaller pieces and fitted onto a sanding stick, and you then reach tight places just as well as with a small file.
When sanding wet, protect electronics from water and do not inhale the sanding dust.
