Photo-etched parts for a model of the Scammell Commander heavy tractor with a 62 t semitrailer in 1:35 scale. An accessory to a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Scammell Commander is a British heavy tractor intended for transporting tanks. With a semitrailer rated at 62 tonnes it makes up a rig that will carry a fighting vehicle by road to where it would otherwise only get at the cost of wear on its running gear and a great deal of fuel. The rig is unusually long and massive, and that is exactly why it makes a rewarding model: standing next to an ordinary tank on a shelf, it shows at once what a large machine it is.
A set of photo-etched parts in 1:35 scale for a model of the tractor and its semitrailer. The etched metal replaces the sections that would come out disproportionately thick in plastic and adds shapes that cannot be produced in a kit. Which parts the fret holds, where they belong and which kit the set is prepared for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Lay the fret on a hard surface and separate the parts from it by cutting through the tab with a sharp blade, not by breaking them out. Make the bends in an etch bender or against the edge of a steel rule, and do so in one movement. For gluing, a minute amount of super glue applied with the tip of a wire is enough; any surplus will show under the part as a white veil. Wash and degrease the metal before painting and use a primer intended for metal, otherwise the coat will soon flake off the edges.
The kit of the rig, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
