A weathering product in the warm brown sepia shade, a glaze for bringing out shadows and traces of use. The method of application is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Responsibility details are not available.
Sepia is a warm brown tone somewhere between black and rust. On a model it does what pure black cannot: it brings out panel lines, rivets and recesses without drawing them as a hard line, and it looks natural on wood, leather, rope and on older paintwork. It is therefore used wherever a shadow should be felt but should not look as if it had been outlined in ink, that is mainly on figures, wooden surfaces and vehicles with dusty coloring.
The name gives the shade as sepia; it is a weathering glaze. The volume of the package, the consistency, the thinner and the recommended method of application are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging; choose the thinner that the manufacturer prescribes for this range, because products from different ranges do not mix with each other.
Weathering products go on over a finished and completely dry coat of paint, on which they flow well and can be wiped back. Work in small areas and rather lightly, because the tone can be layered up but is hard to take away. Wipe the excess from top to bottom, that is in the direction in which water runs down the real subject, so that the traces match real soiling. The result is finally locked in with a clear coat that evens out the chosen level of sheen.
Paints, varnishes, brushes and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
