This is a set of hand-modeled and hand-painted figures in the railroad scale HO, that is 1:87. It is not a kit and not an unpainted casting; all the pieces are finished and complete in color down to the small details. The Scenic Accents line is built precisely on the fact that a modeler gets a usable vignette at once, without painting and without waiting for anything to dry.
The set captures a game of street basketball, figures of players in various phases of movement complemented by an element of the court. The motif belongs in a back yard, in a school grounds, by a driveway or on an open area between houses. Dynamic poses come across more strongly on a layout than standing pedestrians and they are a good way of filling an otherwise empty spot in front of a built-up area.
The figures are supplied finished and hand-painted, so it is enough to place them in a scene. Tweezers help with precise seating, and a drop of PVA or cyanoacrylate glue is enough for permanent fixing. In soft terrain it pays off to push the vegetation aside, so that the base sits on a firm surface and the figure stands straight. The detail can be brought out further with a dark wash run into the folds of the clothing and with a light lift of the edges using a dry brush; a final coat of matte varnish unifies the gloss and protects the paint against rubbing and dust.
The figures are supplied finished and hand-painted. Glue, terrain materials and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
