The silicone mold carries the negative of control panels, screens and keyboards, that is exactly the small things that turn a bare wall into a control room, a command post or the interior of a spaceship. The advantage of a mold is repeatability: you can cast the same panel in any number and arrange it around the whole scene.

Who the mold is for

The manufacturer states that the mold is of quality heat-resistant silicone and that the best results come with resin; thicker modeling putties can be pressed into the mold, but they are harder to work with. It is best to take a casting out only after it has fully cured, so that it keeps the crisp edges of the controls. Excess material is easiest to wipe out of the mold with a flat spatula that will not damage the surface of the mold, so it lasts for many repeated uses.
